User Guide: Entering Activity Participation Data

Best Practices

The best practice is to enter activity data as soon as possible once it has been recorded to ensure that there is a digital record of all activity participants and/or attendees. Entering activity data is a way to track a contact’s participation in actions and events. It is important to have a digital record of activity participants for ease of access, activity participation tracking, and logistical preparations for future actions.


Enter Activity Data

Navigate to the list of workers the activity data is being recorded for.

From the list page, click on the pencil icon next to the Layout dropdown menu to edit the current layout.


Once the Edit Layout tool has opened, there will be a search bar. The current Fields Selected for the layout and a menu of options to add fields to the current layout will be displayed.

Scroll down to find the “Activity Participation” section. Here there is a dropdown menu where the activity to be entered can be selected. It can be found by either typing the name of the activity or scrolling through the dropdown list.


After the relevant activities have been added to the layout, they will appear at the top under the Fields Selected section.

Now scroll to the bottom of this menu and click “Apply & Close.” Note: If entering data for this activity multiple times, it is recommended to select “Save & Apply” instead so that the layout can be saved for future use.

The current list will reload with the selected activity steps present.


At the top of the list, click the Enter Activity Data button to enable editing of the previously selected activity steps.

Under each step, a relevant data entry field such as a checkbox or dropdown menu will appear where a worker’s participation is able to be recorded. Participation data can be recorded on this screen for multiple workers at the same time.

Once the participation data has been entered, click on the Save Activity Data button, which has replaced the Enter Activity Data button. The screen will update with newly entered participation data.
